Lulu and the Brontosaurus

Hi Mrs. Sorenson's class,
How are you doing today? We are reading the same book as your class! We are Room 222 and we are at McDole Elementary School in Montgomery, Illinois. There are 24 students in our class. In our classroom, we read a lot of books, we have iPad minis and we just started Genius Hour. We like to dance to make our brains work because we haven't been outside in WEEKS! It is too cold.

Have you tried Genius Hour?

We noticed that Lulu's parents always give her what she wants. She is not treating her parents very nicely. That has made her become a bad girl.

What do you think is going to happen next?
What would your parents say if you asked for something like a Brontosaurus?
Have you made it to Chapter 3 yet?

Hope to hear from you soon.

  1. Hello, Mrs. Bright's Class!
Thanks for starting the conversation with us! We are very excited about this project!

We aren't sure we should make any predictions since we got to Chapter 5 and don't want to give anything away. What chapter are you on?

This is what we think our parents would say if we asked for a brontosaurus: NO WAY! Definitely NO!

We think they'd say no because it'd be hard to fit a dinosaur into our houses or to find enough food to feed it. Some of us shared that our families don't really like any kind of pet, so a dinosaur probably wouldn't work either. One person said her sister who is three would be very afraid of it, she thinks. Another friend thinks maybe a baby brontosaurus would be OK, and perhaps Lulu's parents would agree to that.

We would like to do Genius Hour again because we only did it once back in the fall. It was about spiders and we all enjoyed it. We are going to check out your blog post about it, because we'd like to learn more. We are going to learn about Chinese New Year from a student in our class tomorrow. Hooray! Watch our blog for more information about that.

Happy reading, and be sure to check our blog for a "Lulu" post!
